Hi, I'm doing a research project on tipping for my sociology class (it's due in less than a week!) and I was wondering if any of you wanted to take my short survey:

1) Are you male or female?

2) If you are at a coffee shop (like Starbucks, where a waiter doesn't actually serve you), how often do you put a tip in the tip jar?
(a) never
(b) less than half of the time
(c) about half of the time
(d) more than half of the time
(e) always

3) If you are at a restaurant and you feel that you received noticeably good quality service (whatever that could mean to you), do you tip more than you usually would if the service was average?
a) yes
b) no

4)Server A is of the gender that you are naturally attracted to, gave average service, and was very friendly and outgoing.
Server B is of the gender that you are not as attracted to, gave noticeably good quality service, and had a neutral personality.
Which server(s) would you tip more than what you consider as an average tip?
a)A
b)B
c)A and B
d)neither

If my waiters not really friendly, then what's the use?
Hott, average, outgoing waitresses get props. Hott, good, outgoing, flirtatious waitresses get about 5-20 dollars more depending on how expensive the restraunt is...(i'd give 5 extra for say Outback and 20 extra for Nero's in Caesar's Palace for an example)

Male

A... I always tip in resturaunts and such, but never at places like Starbucks... It's like tipping for fast food.

A... If it's great service, the tip will reflect it.

D... You need to be friendly and give good service.
