Hi everyone!
I'm a rising senior who recently toured Rice University and loved it. However, there are some concerns I have about my application- this is my ED school and I really would like to know whether I have a good shot at getting in. In terms of numbers, I have a 3.7 GPA (4.0 freshman and sophomore year, but a 3.2 junior year because of family problems). I received a 2170 on my SAT but am looking to take the ACT in September. I got an 800 on the biology SAT II and a 760 on the Literature SAT II. In terms of extra curriculars, I am getting my girl scout gold award, am a member and vice president of my high school's speech and debate team (which is one of the top teams in the nation), participate in Destination Imagination, play piano, am an editor on my school's newspaper, an original contributor to a blog online, the treasurer of my high school's chess club, and I also tutor in piano, chess, and art. In addition, I am a member of the National Latin Honor Society as well as the National Honor Society. I'm also a girl, upper-middle class, and Indian (if that affects anything at all). I know Rice is a bit of a reach for me- but I am in love with the school. Does anybody have any feedback for me in terms of what to expect after I submit my application (obviously nothing is guaranteed to anyone). Thanks!!
