Not really. And you need 2 subject tests.

just apply 2 penn ed. admissions is really weird so u never know.

“the geniuses of UPenn”
That made me lol. We’re smart, but the majority of us aren’t that smart.

OP, do you say that to every school? Oh wait, students at Cornell, Penn and UMich are geniuses, but Hopkins kids only rate a “tough competition” :)

are you from Thomas Edison? That could sink you.

No use over thinking it. What I can’t overemphasize enough is the fact that college admissions comes one time in your life, so you need to just go for it. Don’t waste your time second guessing yourself, over thinking it.

This is fitting for admissions: “I know nothing with any certainty but the sight of the stars makes me dream.”

^^Along those lines, you’ll never know unless you get out there and play your card, and play it well.

*play your cards, and play them well (oops)

Penn has geniuses? I only know a handful of brilliant kids - most of the rest are just high achieving philistines and nothing more.

I think most of us probably come from high schools where we’re hailed as young ‘sapient’ scholars, and then we come to Penn and see others just like us and only those who see themselves as truly unique rise above those who still live absorbed in their former high school glory. Although, I’m sure that the 15 or so percent that constitutes suma cum-laude kids have kept true to their former ambitions, not everyone can remain at the top, but I think that’s true everywhere.

by the end of college, 50% of those admitted are going to be in the bottom of their class anyway, so being smart is all relative.

but back to yr question: seriously just apply. u shouldn’t think about anyone else who’s applying. they don’t matter. it’s about u.

^ it’s about you…in respect to them. lol.

yes, but i still believe that yr essays can set u apart. the nature of the game is inherently competitive but an outstanding application can leave no room for comparison

Very interesting hook though. It’s totally worth EDing it.

isnt ed for legacies and athletes at penn?

^Penn, like all other Ivies and top schools, uses ED to wrap up their recruited athletes. Penn also states that ED is the only time legacies see a boost in admissions chances (it wouldn’t surprise me if legacies had above 50% admission during ED). However, there are plenty of “normal” applicants admitted ED (and plenty of legacies I know deferred or rejected ED) that it’s worth an application if Penn is your #1 school.

Your stats are better than mine, and I think that I will get in ED as a legacy. Please apply ED and I am confident that you will get in!

u need to know that there are tons of legacies. my cousin was one and she got waitlisted ED and ultimately rejected and was in the 2300s for SATs. The OP will have a difficult time and u will have a difficult time but u better apply ED. Unless yr father/mother’s name is Rodin/Harrison/Harnwell/Riepe/Fisher (the Fisher of Fisher Hassenfeld and Fisher Fine Arts), yr gonna have to keep yr fingers crossed.
