I was just wondering if I should apply to Steven with Early Decision II, but I am not sure if they would give enough financial aid because I think I may need much of the aid I can get. Is it worth it to apply for Stevens- ED or just wait for Regular decision?
You definitely increase your odds of being accepted significantly through early decision. Stevens is the only school I am aware of whose early decision is not binding until you commit by sending in your deposit before the ED deposit deadline. The only caveat is you cannot apply to any other school as early decision. You have nothing to lose applying ED II if Stevens is your first choice.
I agree with crazymamaB’s post for the most part. The biggest negative would be that you would not be able to consider/compare all of your offers.
True, it isn’t binding and it probably increases your odds of acceptance a bit, but the bigger factor here is affordability. It is an expensive school and I would want to see all of my options and be able to compare them. For this reason, in your case, I would apply regular decision.
