Should i apply for Spring 2012 or Fall 2012?

Since I will be my third year in college next year (Fall 2012), i am still thinking about transfering, but i don't know which semester should i transfer? I heard the spring semester is pretty difficult to get into, and i don't want to waste another year if i apply on the fall semester.

Also, the colleges im interested in are the top tier colleges, like Cornell, NYU, Penn, etc.

What do you guys think?

Penn does not take Spring transfers. Neither does Columbia, Harvard, Yale, Stanford, CalTech, Dartmouth, Duke, or most other top schools, and you missed the deadline for Brown. Your choices are pretty limited, depending on what you mean by “top tier”.

does anyone which school has spring transfer other than cornell?

nevermind. i just did my reserach. but is it true that spring transfer is more difficult to be accepted?

+1 would still like to know what the chances are for a junior to spring transfer

Percentage wise it is pretty consistent. I am looking at Cornell A&S for the spring. They had a 7% percent admssion rate for the spring of '11. Fewer apply during the spring and thus fewer are selected.

I am also looking at Cornell AEM for Spring 2013. My hope is with fewer people applying I will be able to stand out more. If not, I will just apply to Cornell and my other top choice schools for that fall.
