Should I apply to NYU Tisch as a transfer now?

I'm planning on transferring to NYU within the next year or so for their Film and TV Program. it says on their website that all Film transfer students have to start in the summer. I recently got accepted to their Summer in NYC program, and I'm just wondering if I should just transfer all my credits to NYU (meaning apply to NYU as a transfer), or just attend the program and see if I like NYU before transferring my credits (which is the main reason why I applied to this summer program in the first place)

The deadline for external transfer is April 1st, so I still have some time to work on my application. I guess I'm just worried about how selective the program is and how difficult it is to get into NYU. If i apply this year and fail, I still have another chance next year. If I apply next year and fail, then i would have to waste another year. But since I'm poor (very poor for NYU tuition), I'm trying to do whatever I can so that I can get a lot of scholarships/financial aid, and I'm afraid that spending only 1 year at my current community college is not enough to get scholarship money.

Do you have any advice? I'm sorry that this is very long... I just want to maximize my chances of getting into NYU and getting scholarships/financial aid to pay for my tuition.

why doesn’t anyone want to answer why question…

Hey. I’d say take the shot and apply if you feel that you’re ready. By being ready, I hope your prerequisites are all completed. Best of luck, I just applied to the summer program.

I applied to the summer program too! Which program did you apply to?

I’m actually working on my transfer application right now… Do you have to have all the pre-reqs completed before transferring? Because I was thinking of continuing with those once I get accepted at NYU… I just feel like I’m wasting a lot of time here at my current CC…

If you can’t afford NYU, don’t get your hopes up for any year. They have poor financial aid in general and it’s almost nothing for transfers.
