So basically, I have no chance of getting into Pepperdine. I would just really like to go there because it's a great school, has a nice location, and I really like and respect the fact that it is affiliated with religion, despite the fact that I have never really been involved with religion. I would like to be though and I think Pepperdine would give me that chance. Also, my grades were subpar my sophomore year due to personal issues and I kind of wrote about that in my application essay, so do you think that would help make up for my inferior performance in the tenth grade and maybe give me a better chance at getting accepted? That is if I even apply. My main dilemma is if there is even a point in applying with such a low probability of acceptance. I'm from New York, by the way, if that makes any difference.

It’s too late for me to take the ACT, so that’s a no. My major will be biology and I’m applying to some of the SUNY schools here in New York that I should get into as well as other schools in New York such as St. John’s University and possibly Fordham. I would really like to get out of New York though, to be completely honest.

If it soothes your worries, I have a friend with a class rank of appx 280/775 whose UW GPA was below 3 and SAT score of 1850 get into Pepperdine. I think you’ll be fine
