Hi all, I'm a junior in high school, and I have an academc record that I believe would make me a competetive applicant for the Questbridge program. In addition, my family's income is right around 60,000 for a family of four, which puts me within the "low income" group they specify on the websight (albeit on the high side).

Now, the one thing that might make me not a part of their requirements is the fact that I attend a private boarding school, meaning I really am not under serviced in any way. I attend the school on practically a full scholarship, but I am simply worried that just the fact that I attend a private school would affect my chances of being accepted into the Questbridge program. Any thoughts on this?

please i would really appreciate everyone’s opinions

I think you should apply and let them decide. If you overthink this, you might exclude yourself from what is a great opportunity. It is possible they will consider you mainly on your needs. Go for it.

Thanks! I was just worried that a private school education might affect my chances, but you’re right I should go for it regardless.

I know people who were named finalists/got CPS and attend good boarding schools on scholarship. I personally go to the best public school in my district and got CPS and finalist. With people that receive QB you see a mix of people coming from both great and not so great high schools.

I actually looked into it some more, and found that my family is actually making a lot more money this year, due to several grants my parents received, so I found several other summer college opportunities to apply to that aren’t geared towards lower income families.
