I'm trying to finish my college list, and I'm wondering if Syracuse should be one of my options.

I'm interested in business, communications, and sports management, so Syracuse is strong in all of these areas. I'm also a fan of the campus, the huge sports scene and school spirit, big greek life, and the emphasis on having a good social life along with good academics. However, I don't know if I want to live in the city of Syracuse (I heard it was an industrial ghetto and that is was unsafe and boring). Is that an accurate portrayal of the city of Syracuse? Is there anything to do there? Another worry of mine is the weather. I'm used to warm weather, and I've never really been in freezing temps and snow. I like the 60s-80s year round, so I'm not sure if I could handle it. I mean I know I could dress warm and stuff, but do people ever go outside? What about intramurals?

So what do you think about Syracuse? Do the positives seem to outweigh the negatives? And is the weather and city really that bad?

Thanks....And to let you know my other schools are University of Miami, Loyola Marymount, Univ. of San Diego, and San Diego State. I'm also interested in University of Portland, Pepperdine, Indiana University, and Washington State.

thanks again.
