Should I Apply to the College of Creative Studies

Hey everyone,

I have already applied to Santa Barbara. I put down Mechanical Engineering as my first choice major and College of Creative Studies - Physics as my alternative major. However, I have not done my supplemental application for College of Creative Studies yet.

I am unsure about whether I should bother applying to the College of Creative Studies. As interested as I am in physics, I have not done any original research in the field. The majority of my practice with physics has been through an engineering academy at my school. As a result I am unsure if I should apply. Maybe I should withdraw my application and just do engineering at Santa Barbara?

Can someone who has some knowledge about the College of Creative Studies please help me out?
Do I need experience doing physics research to fit into the program?
If I am accepted to Mechanical Engineering (my first choice major on the application) will I even be considered for the College of Creative Studies (my alternate major)?
Will getting accepted to the College of Creative Studies prevent my admittance to engineering?
What is the College of Creative Studies like for a Physics major?

Thanks so much.

the folks at the college encourage and welcome contact from prospective students. It is a small program, they want to make sure that it is a fit for those accepted. Give them a call and talk it over.
