I just realized after submitting all my applications expect for Cornell, since the deadline is Jan 9th, that there is a major problem with the transcript at my school. At my school, the counselors basically make kids who take 4 or more APs take a class called Seminar for AP. This class does not give credit because it is meant as a period for collaboration between AP students and to get assistance from teachers. I thought the class appeared on the transcript but apparently it does not so should I get my counselor to send an explanation to my colleges because it looks as if I took 7 classes my freshman and sophomore year and 6 classes my junior and senior year even though I did take a full schedule my junior and senior year. I took 4 APs junior year and 5 APs senior year. Does this really hurt my chances for top schools.
Applying to Harvard, Yale, Brown, and other top schools

It couldn’t hurt to have your counselor contact the schools if there is an error on the transcript. Although I’d think they’d be less concerned with how full your schedule was than with your grades, extracurriculars, test scores, and teacher recommendations.

No…I don’t think that only six classes on your transcript will be a problem. I know a ton of people both this year and last year who have actually only taken six classes in their senior year (on their transcript it says “Off campus 7” or “Off campus 1”). I know one is at Columbia and I’m sure that there are others who are at other top schools without taking a full course-load.
Don’t bother your counselor, it shouldn’t have an impact.
