heres the thing: I HATE my school. Wayyyyy too much competition. Not event he whole school is this insane, just my d*** grade for some reason. my grade had several AIME,USAMO, and even MOP(for those of you who know what that is), and several people who qualified for the science camps(USAPhO, USNCO...). No matter how hard and close to death i work, theres always someone ahead of me. im in roughly the top 4% in my grade, and i was a USAMO qualifier last year(though not a MOPper, like a bilion people in my grade...)
yes, im always stressed. i was considering moving, or homeschooling. any thoughts??

well i would argue that top 4% in a competitive environment is a really good standing.

and wait. seriously? you’d move?? like to a different house, or do you mean to a different school?

but the thing is, my gpa is a mid 3.8(hopefully can bring it to a 3.89 by the end of this year, due to two B’s(one each year) and a load of bad teachers). a **** load of my “friends” have 4.00’s…maybe like 8 of them have 4.00s in classes roughly the same difficulty as me???

but i think your class rank is fine. what does it matter if you don’t have a 4.0, as long as you’re in the top of your class? it just shows your school is rather difficult

and you’re still gonna have those b’s if you’re homeschooled. at least this way, you’re showing good academic standing in your environment

the thing is, my dream school has lower than a 9% acceptance rate…im not sure ill stack among people in my grade…the only thing that im probably better than everyone in my grade at is music…

There will always be people with as good as or better grades than you. There will always be people who seem more talented or smarter or who have more experience than you. There will ALWAYS be someone ahead of you. That’s just life. Running away from that isn’t going to make you look better or more impressive.

Relax, and forget about them. Work hard, do your best, and it’ll turn out how it turns out. You’re at the top of your class in a (I’m assuming) difficult and competitive school. There’s nothing wrong with that. What you do outside of the classroom is what’s really going to set you apart from your peers, not moving to a different school.

i second this

top lel. Being top 4% in a competitive school is a great feat, man. Like I’ve told you in the past, quit worrying about two Bs. It really won’t be a deal breaker in the end.

oh yeah and not to mention everyone at my school is an ass

but thanks for the replies everyone! the two b’s are not the only things im worried about. yeah, i will try to make my music really special(im a piano player ) as for math, im not the best in my school but ill try my best!
any other input is welcome!!
