I've been emailing an admissions officer at one of the place I'm applying to (Illinois Institute of Tech) just to check on my application and see if they've received everything. She sent this back to me:

"We haven't received all of your application materials yet.
Unfortunately, we may not be able to review your application for
architecture because the application deadline for architecture students
was January 7th."

Thing is, about 6 weeks ago I emailed asking if the deadline was the arrival date for materials or the postmarked deadline. She told me it was postmark so I went to the post office the day before the deadline and sent my stuff. Yea this might've been cutting it a little close, but I needed the financial documents from my dad who lives halfway around the world from me. What should I do/respond with? I don't want to sound like I'm begging for something...I live in Canada and I sent the stuff a week ago so it should be there by now, according to the lady at the post office.

I thought I stood a good chance of getting in, it was one of my better "match" schools. I had a CD inside with my portfolio so it was sent as a parcel and came with a tracking number - Canada Post only says that it's arrived in the US, I have no idea if it's anywhere near Illinois or Chicago...
