Letter?!

I couldn’t help but notice that most of you (ED applicants) received letters concerning financial aid on Friday, regardless of whether you needed it or not. I’m freaking out though because I didn’t get one, so I’m not sure what that means! Although I’m not applying for aid, does this mean something is wrong with my app or that they already rejected me?! Thanks.

I'm sure it doesn't. You can call them up to check if you're really concerned, but you're probably fine (the mail is unreliable).

hmmmm I just called admissions and they said that my form was good, but she didn't exactly reassure me about the letter. She said I would not receive one? I'm really confused, but on the upside, I asked about November SATS and she said they just received everyone's but hadn't updated them on the tracking website yet.

That's very strange about the letter (since it seems like everyone here received one).

If you're not applying for aid why would you get a financial aid letter?

I got one confirming that I didn't want to apply for aid, telling me what to do if I had changed my mind, and letting me know that I had to apply for aid before notified about admissions results if I had changed my mind (as did a couple of other people here)...

Ah, you're an international, right? That's probably why you haven't received one (you'll probably receive an email or nothing at all)...

Well, I'm an international but I went to hs here so my address isn't out of the country...And I've checked my email sooo many times!

Hmm...very strange. letitbe18, who is also international, got an email about it...

I don't think it has anything to do with decisions though. I know they aren't done making decisions (a classmate of mine had to resend a rec so they could complete her file).

i didn't get a letter either
and i didn't apply for aid.
uh oh...=/

I seriously don't think it has anything to do with decisions (why would they send anything before they're done making decisions?). Seriously guys, don't worry too much about it. There are a million reasons you could not have gotten them...

I got a letter about last Tuesday or so (a few days after other people) and the information was inaccurate anyway. It just basically says whether or not they have received your financial aid sheets, but the online tracker is more accurate.

Check the progress of your financial documents online. If they've been received, you should be fine.

^^^Most of us got them last Friday (the day after Thanksgiving)...

The financial aid documents? My tracker doesn't have a section for that... But I did call admissions and they looked in my file and told me nothing was missing. In fact, when I asked about the fin aid letter, she was rather confused.
Rose - I'm glad I'm not the only one without the letter!

OK, I think I probably got it around the same day. I thought I read about the letter here before I got it, but I really can't remember.

This last week's been like a whirlwind with Thanksgiving and all for me, and I'm all disoriented because of the break in school.

Sorry for the confusion!

I think there's a separate site for checking financial aid.

I'm really sorry mishka1, but I just discovered that I DID get the letter, it was just that my mom had opened it and put it away before showing it to me (gah! haha).

I would suggest maybe trying to call them again, but if you still don't get it, I am almost positive it has no correlation with acceptance/rejection, so don't stress at all!

I think we're all pretty disoriented, belle! No worries...

I think there's a separate tracker for FA too.

Who knows what's going on with these letters, but it's probably not at all important since the person who you talked to in the admissions office had no idea what it was!

This is going to sound terrible (and I hope it doesn't turn out to be true, I want us all to get in!), but it's highly unlikely that there's any correlation to decisions because it's highly unlikely that they'd accept all of us ED. If there was any correlation to acceptance/rejection, you'd expect only about half of us to get the letters...

My guess would be that someone just overlooked yours or something.

I'm SO confused now!!! I keep thinking - probably unnecessarily, that maybe she was just acting confused because they already rejected me?
So for all of you who didn't apply for aid, did you guys still get FA trackers? I only received one email for tracking my application. I guess I will call the FA offices tomorrow instead of admissions.

Nope, I didn't get a financial aid tracker, just the app tracker and this letter.
