I am an in state early applicant to UNC and im worried im gonna get rejected because I got 2 Cs and 2 Bs my junior year. They were in ap calculus and ap chemistry, and i was taking 2 other ap classes as well, but that puts my unweighted gpa at around 3.6. My weighted gpa is a 4.7 and I have a 33 act score, as well as decent extra curriculars. I also dont think my main common app essay was very good, but my supplemental essays were good. Should i be worried that ill get rejected? is it very hard to be accepted in state?
also i am still in the top 10% of my class
Below are links to the class profile for freshmen this year. You can look at how you stack up against the students who got admitted. The profile does not provide the GPA, but it does provide class rank, and most students are in the top 10% of their class. Since you are still in the top 10% of your class, you still have a good shot at admission.
thank you. also im worried cause my teacher recs are probably not gonna be excellent or anything
bump
No you should not be worried.
how are you so sure! @VegasRoller
Because you sound like an outstanding student and I would take pride in what you’ve accomplished. Your apps are in, right? Now just let the cards fall and take the best option, which I think will be UNC. My son applied there too and your numbers are better than his.
My S18 did EA IS as well. Your stats are better even though he doesn’t have any C’s. I think you’re in.
