<p>Should I apply??? I'm learning towards no at the moment... my stats are average at best. </p>
<p>Your GPA is below average and your SATs are above average for in-state. There is no harm in applying, the say on CC goes something like ‘the only guarantee of not getting accepted is not applying.’ I would strongly encourage you to do your best and write a kickass essay, the worst that can happen is you get rejected, which I personally think is unlikely.</p>
<p>I’d go ahead and apply, but understand that your class rank and GPA are below average for in state admission. It’s a reach right now, but certainly not impossible. Wait until the second deadline, have straight A’s this term, and make sure you WOW them with your essays. If you have a good explanation for the C’s and D’s (illness, family emergency, etc.) make sure you tell them about it. I’d even consider taking the SAT again or trying the ACT to get those scores even higher (not to say that they aren’t above average now, because they clearly are, but every little bit counts imo).</p>
<p>Thanks for the feedback! Just knowing that I have somewhat of a chance, however slight it may be, is great news. I’ll really work on perfecting my essay and getting straight A’s. I’m probably really annoying the OOS people right now with my mediocre stats… haha</p>
<p>You’d better have a really good reason for making those Ds, and even then, mmm, good luck. Obviously your chances for acceptance are lower if you don’t apply than if you do, but don’t hold your breath. I’m not even sure if State would be okay with Ds. Have safeties at App, ECU, and UNCC.</p>
