I applied to U of M on Oct. 20 and I am considered to be an early action applicant but I have still not hear back. I have heard of regular decisions coming out strange considering the EA deadline has not happened yet. My naviance says I have strong chance of getting in but this wait worries me! Should I call admissions and ask when I should hear back?

@drjdillon Same here, applied on October 7 and have yet to hear back. Seems kinda unfair to us EA applicants that the RD people are hearing back earlier despite us applying 3 months earlier…
My son applied 10/15, strong stats, OOS (IL) highly ranked district, and is still waiting. He thought U of M was his top choice, but a little disenchanted with their admissions process compared to the other schools he applied to. Now he is much more excited about those schools.
I will say that them extending RD to 1/15 seems to indicate they were looking for more of a pool to choose from. In our case she got accepted in like 10 days. She had accepted into CLA which I believe is a little easier although being over the 50% middle range I believe is why she got a quick response. It seems to be a lot of the decisions (or lack of)may be based on major.
Same with us. My son applied several months ago and hasn’t heard a word. Application tracker still says that everything is received but nothing else. We also e-mailed an additional letter of recommendation letter and never received confirmation they received it, despite having e-mailed them asking. We are disappointed.
Applied early october (EA) to CSOM and CEHD as a 2nd choice school but still haven’t heard anything. 3.6 gpa and 30 ACT. Does this mean I’ll get deferred or is anyone else still waiting?
Still waiting here. Same choices. Stats a little different…ACT lower, GPA higher. At this point it would just be nice to get some answer. Hopefully they won’t wait until the last minute and then defer.
