Should I bring materials to a meeting?

I am meeting with the admissions director for a college becuase I inqiured about information to the school and she's coming to the state so we setup like a q&a session with her, me, and my mom... Should I bring my transcripts or anything ? Thanks... I don't want to see unprepared when I go to see her!

Also any good questions to ask? thanks

You probably don’t need to bring anything. I suppose if you have a transcript handy, having a copy couldn’t hurt, but I doubt you’ll be asked for it. They will get all the academic information from your application should you apply.

Basically, the directors make these tours primarily to sell their schools. Your goals should be to (i) show the director that you are interested in this school and convince her that there’s a good chance that you would come if admitted and (ii) to obtain information that will enable you to make an informed decision should you be admitted.

You might want to think of information about this specific school. For example if the school is near <city x=“”>, you can ask do students go into the city alot (the answer is yes). If you have a particular interest, you can ask about that (especially if you’ve done your research and know that they have a club that meets this). For example, “One thing I love about your school is the Submarine Club …” But don’t expect an admissions officer to have vast amounts of knowledge about every club.</city>

You can also ask about the academic programs, mentioning the ones that particularly interest you (look up the school first to make sure they actually have such a program – avoid an ‘oops’).

Most important – be yourself.

Final point (and you can tell I’m a parent by mentioning this), whenever you do a one-on-one interview, follow up with an email thanking the person for their time. Aside from being polite, it builds the relationship with the ad officer, and really does indicate that this is a school in which you’re interested.

Bring a notepad and a pen.

Dress neatly, it doesn’t have to be your “Sunday best”, and avoid holey clothes. A collared shirt would be nice.

went to the meeting, went good thanks everybody!
