I am about to take the AP Physics 1 test and my teacher was not qualified at all to teach the class, and good grades were a result of huge curves on tests, so the entire class is vastly unprepared for the exam. I know that the highest score I could get at this point is a 3. Should I cancel my score right after I take the exam, so that I could still get the awards given by the college board (AP scholar, etc)? I’ve taken two AP tests in the past and have gotten 4s on both of them. I am also taking AP bio this year and expect to get a 5.
In the grand scheme of things, the AP Scholar awards are one step above the good citizenship medal. I would not make decisions based on trying to achieve an award.
I would not cancel the score. If you don’t like the score, simply don’t list the score on your college application.
