Hello once more fellow CCers. I have been deliberating whether or not I should cancel my AP scores after receiving 2s on all of my AP exams this year (AP Chem, Lang and Physics 1). Last year, I achieved good results after receiving 3s on both my first AP exams (AP World History and Human Geography) and I was confident I would do better this year. Unfortunately, that’s not what happened and I am beginning to worry what possible repercussions my low scores would have on college admissions and financial aid if I were to leave them available to witness. This year, I was certain I would obtain scores no less than a 3 since I made multiple As and attained no less than a B- on all three of my AP classes. From what I researched, 2s are definitely not considered as acceptable by colleges and I think it would be better off for them to make their own conclusions than to see my low scores. I’m currently a rising senior and I fear that I’ll be unprepared to study for the exams of the 4 AP classes I’ll be taking this fall (Bio, Calc AB, US Gov, and Lit). Some advice would be greatly appreciated.

You just don’t report them. I am not sure you can even cancel, but you don’t have to report AP scores on the application. Make sure you have a realistic university list. Grades of b- in your classes and your SAT and failing AP tests means you really need to reassess the point of taking APs. If you had solid A’s and no threat to your GPA and APs are the only rigorous option, then that would be different, if your GPA is under threat and you don’t gain a boost from the rigour, you should reconsider.
No point of cancelling, colleges don’t care too much about AP scores anyway. It won’t be much of a factor in financial aid and acceptance, you just won’t be able to skip classes. As said before, just don’t report those scores, it won’t make or break your application.
