Should I cancel my March SAT score? I have until Wednesday

Alright, here’s my prediction from looking at reddit: -3/4 reading, -0/1 writing (1 just as a precaution), -2/3 math
My essay was decent, I felt like I went in depth with analysis on metaphor, hypothetical examples, and diction/tone.

I’m aiming for 1550+, and while I would be fine with my score if this was my first test, I’ve taken two of the old sat tests–my first score was a 2160 and the second one dropped over 50 points. I’m hoping to get into semi competitive colleges–20-30% acceptance rates–and I am really, really worried that an “average” sat score will not be enough to make up for my 3-time sats. Please reply and thank you so much!!!

A 1500+ is by no means an average score. I’d advise against you cancelling your scores.

Usually, canceling scores is advised when you feel like you haven’t done anything right on any section of the test.
That way, if you’re aiming for a college that asks for a 1300+ SAT Score but feel like you got an 800, you’d cancel.

Your case is very, very far from that. Don’t cancel; retake if applicable.

Do you’re canceling a score because you think you might not score above 1550? Only CB knows the curve, just wait and see.

You should take the new SAT at least twice for super-scoring possibilities. Most colleges don’t require to see your testing history anyway.

As someone that just finished applications, I can tell you that all but 2 of the schools I applied to (22 in total) required to see a full testing history. There is no true advantage to canceling a score.
