Hi! I need help please. I was recently accepted to Berkeley, and I’m scared to accept. My intended major at Cal is something in CNR. I plan to go to onto med school, and I feel like Cal would prepare me the best for all the pre requisites. But I’m scared about the crime rate and finding housing after freshman year. I qualify for EOP and I was wondering if it helps me find housing in the COops because that is what I have heard. My other option is Davis and I feel like that is too comfortable for me there and I’m trying to grow as a person.
https://www.bsc.coop has BSC coop housing information. Apply early, since they go by application date within priority levels (if EOP is a priority level, that can help greatly for getting in as a new member).
https://www.bsc.coop/index.php/housing/apply-for-housing-main/apply-for-housing indicates that EOP is a priority level.
There is not that much crime around the university proper, although there are certainly neighborhoods in Berkeley that I would avoid. Finding housing can be a pain. Can’t argue with that.
