Should I choose COSMOS or Camp Counselor?

I got accepted into the “Introduction to Engineering Mechanics” Cluster at UC Davis. However, I have also been offered a job as a camp counselor where I would be helping kids with robotics, basic programming, and mathematics. I would also take two classes that I am deeply interested in at a nearby community college. I can’t do COSMOS and the camp counselor/CC classes together, I can only pick one. Since I am currently a junior, this is the summer before my senior year, so which option would look best on college apps? Thanks.

Your interest is the most important thing. COSMOS is good but not super impressive because they have many clusters and it’s not too difficult to get in.

@coolweather Engineering is one of the easiest clusters to get into but doesn’t COSMOS still look super amazing college apps? I’m scared the CC class and camp counselor wont look as impressive.

Again, do what you like. It’s not totally about college app. If you think COSMOS will open your eyes about engineering then go for it. If you have passion about being a camp counselor and about classes in community college (I would not recommend 2 classes if they are hard academic subjects) then go for it. For selective colleges COSMOS is about as the same as other summer programs that many students participate in. There are other summer programs that are very difficult to get in (Math Olympiad, Bio Olympiad, Physics/Chemistry Olympiad, Research Science Institute,…).
