Should I choose UMich?

Hey everyone!
I'm from NJ. I plan on majoring in something business related.

At this point, I am really only considering UMich, GW (w/ 20k scholarship a year), and Northeastern (10k scholarship for soph, junior, and senior year). I've gotten into Northeastern and GW's business schools but was denied preadmit for Ross for UMich.

I know that UMich is the best academically, but I am afraid of not getting into Ross (the business school) next year. This is probably the one thing that is stopping me from choosing Michigan at the moment. I know that there is other options if I don't get into Ross, but is it worth the risk?

I know ultimately know that this decision is mine but I'd really like insight on the academics, social life, if its worth the money, etc of each of the schools. I am really unsure at this point and your comments will really help me.

Thanks so much!

Honestly, Michigan LSA will open more doors than GW or NEU business schools.

Alexandre, I know what you mean but could you be more specific?

I have the same question!!! I was just admitted by UMich LSA& Econ as a transfer. I don’t know whether the job placement of Econ is good or not. I’m quite worried about this >_<

Geez, is everyone who goes to UMich just interested in going to Ross these days? Economics is a much more rigorous and respected discipline; Econ majors will far outshine undergraduate business majors 10 years down the line in their careers. Go to UMich and don’t look back.

Very few business programs are worth attending over an elite university like Michigan (LSA), and I don’t think GWU and Northeastern aren’t among them.

I have a similar question. Would Umich econ be better than UIUC accounting?
