Should I Continue With Questbridge as a Finalist?

Ok, so I applied to Questbridge and I got accepted to be a Finalist. The problem is I don’t think I can match with a school and all the 6 schools I chose were like Upenn, Uchicago, Yale…colleges that literally can’t accept me. I can only apply to my state college (Ohio State) for early action and that STRESSES ME OUT. Like I’m still doubting I can get into Ohio State and now we’re talking about all these amazing colleges on Questbridge.

So basically, do you guys think I should continue with the matching and only apply to Ohio State early action? For reference, I have a 28 ACT and also a 3.8 uw/ 4.3 w GPA.

If Ohio is your home state, you are allowed to apply to Ohio State Early Action AND do the match. Is that is what you are asking?

No, I already know that. I’m just asking for opinions on whether if i should continue with questbridge because there may be a chance I will get rejected from OSU and also questrbidge itself so then that leaves me with really no good back up schools that provides good fiancial aid.

There is no harm in continuing with the Match and Early Action with Ohio State. If those don’t work out you simply continue on with Regular Decision like everybody else.

You dont have anything to lose to continue with Questbridge. You made it as a Finalist, many didn’t. Relax, soak in this accomplishment. Even if you dont match, the majority of Questbridge scholars get in through Regular Decision with great financial aid packages.

Congrats!!

Also, you can apply to non binding schools if they have rolling admissions, or to schools that require early action for scholarships/aid, in addition to your state school. ?

Congratulations on becoming a QB finalist.

Why did you only rank 6 schools for QB? Can you still change that and add 6 more?
Either way I would stick with the QB process, there seems to be no downside. If you don’t end up matching thru QB, because you are a finalist, you might consider applying EDII and/or RD to other QB schools.

Regarding OSU, what major/program are you applying to? Have you run the net price calculator to see if OSU will be affordable? https://sfa.osu.edu/incoming-freshmen/about-aid/net-price-calculator
