Should I do the Ben Franklin Scholars Program at UPenn?

With my admission to Penn I was also sent an admission to their Ben Franklin Scholars Program. I did a lot of research on the program and it seems really great. I’m just iffy on a couple things, however.

  1. I’m planning on doing pre-med, but majoring in Health and Societies and possibly minoring Bioethics (which, sadly, has no overlap with premed requirements). I’m worried that the BFS program is going to be too much extra work to handle.

  2. BFS requires you to live in Riepe freshman year, and I really want to dorm at New College House (which is beautiful btw) and I heard that the dorms and bathrooms in the Quad are kinda gross.

Help plz!

  1. Try it, you can always drop out if it’s too much

  2. Where you live matters less than the friends you make, and quad is probably still the top for that (although I have no idea about the layout of the new college house)
