Should I do the SAT Math I or II

I’m applying to top schools - Stanford, Ivies ect. so I’m wondering if I should do the SAT I or II for maths.

@stanfordgoalz If you are more familiar with pre-calculus, I would suggest taking Math II. Otherwise, Math I should be fine. Also, note that if you are applying to Caltech, Caltech requires Math II.

Harvey Mudd also requires Math II.

If you are going into a STEM type major, I think the top schools only want to see the SAT Math Level 2. I didn’t know the ropes with S1 and made the mistake of having him take both. Then I found out that kids tend to get better scores on the Math 2. Sure enough, he made a good score on the Math 1 but aced the Math 2. It would have looked better just to have had the second test. He took the second one just as he finished pre-calc so it would all be fresh in his brain. Be sure you are at the right math level before you take it.
