Right now I am a double major in Poli Sci and History but my university recently approved a new global studies major. Global studies was my original plan when I was choosing a school but things didnt turn out the way I thought they would and I ended up at a really good school, but it didnt have a global studies major.

After undergrad I am thinking of doing a join MA in international relations and JD program. I don't know what I want to do. Im already pretty far in my Poli Sci degree. Im hoping that I can do both Poli Sci and GS. But looking at my degree requirements, it doesnt look like I can. But what do I know? Im meeting with my adviser next week to figure it all out.

What do you think I should do? I think a double major in Poli Sci and History looks more impressive on a transcript (does it?) and it seems more suited for what I want to do in the future buuuuutt... the global studies program seems really cool and I would be one of the first students to be in it. HELP!

Since you are already far along in a poli sci major, you should stick with it.
Since you plan to study IR and law in graduate school, there’s no immediate need to do a global studies major now. Besides, in several ways, majors in political science and history might be a better preparation for law school (e.g., a greater focus on writing in the history major, and more background than global studies in American history and political institutions in both of these fields, which would be useful for IR and law). I assume you have statistics and a basic IR course as part of your political science major. Instead of doing a global studies major, it would be more important for your graduate plans as a next focus to make sure you’ve had coursework in principles of economics and a sufficient level of proficiency in a relevant foreign language (study abroad could be useful here, too, if you can arrange t). If you can fit it in, some history and political science elective coursework on a country or region that interests you would be worthwhile.
