Should I drop a course if It will help my grades?

Hi, I don’t know if I should do this or not and I am looking for answers. I am currently in Junior year, and I am thinking about dropping from Honors Language Arts to CP Language Arts. since the beginning of the year I haven’t been doing well in the course, and I mean my grade has been a solid C, and its one of the major things dragging my GPA down. I feel that If I drop to an easier class, I would be able to spend time on the other three AP’s I have on my plate. So my question is, is it worth having an A in the class but having that stigma on your transcript, or just take the B or C and keep my transcript clean?

Thanks.

I would advise moving to the CP class with one caveat, below. If you’re struggling in the honors class to maintain a C and it’s also affecting your grades in your other AP classes, then this particular honors class is probably not the right level for you.

Caveat…
But, it sounds like you might be thinking it’s a given that you will definitely get an A in the CP course. I would ask around about this first, just to have a better idea before you make the move. See if your friends in the CP class find it easy/medium/difficult.

I think that an A in a CP course is better than a C in an honors course, but a B- or a C+ in a CP course would be another story altogether.

Good luck.

I would be inclined to do whichever is less stressful. I would expect that this most likely means switching to the CP class.

I would not drop this late in the semester. I would finish the semester and then change.

One C isn’t a big deal…I’d rather see a C than a withdrawal which some might assume is worse.
