So, I'm planning out my senior year and so far I've decided upon:

AP Calculus AB
AP English Literature
AP Psychology
AP Government
Marine Biology H
Latin IV H
Study Hall

However, my Dad, guidance counselor, and one of my teachers who is really concerned with my future all have been telling me not to "force it" with the APs. They told me to drop AP Psychology (which is a joke but tedious in its workload) and take an easier course or even a second study hall. I was thinking of taking a business elective known as "School-to-Career" which is basically a class where you act as a teacher aid for someone while they teach another class. (Like I could be a teacher aid for Ms. XYZ while she teaches Freshman Bio I period 3)

Its basically a study except its supposed to give you valuable "career" experience. Most people just regard it as a joke, since no one shows up and people just use it as an excuse to go get Dunkin Donuts.

Thoughts?

4 AP’s is doable. I think you’re fine

I think you’ll be ok as long as you stay on top of everything.
Psych was really enjoyable for me when I was self-studying last year

Well tbh I would take only 5 classes senior year is the worst with so much crap that goes with it I would drop marine bio and study hall

Well, as long as you didn’t submit that list of classes yet for next school year, then it’s ok to drop AP Psychology if you want to (stick with choosing the course if you’re interested in the subject, not only because you want college credit or a weighted gpa).

You probably already know this, but as far as I know (for my school at least), the colleges that you submit your ‘important documents’ to will look at your classes over the course of your high school ‘career’. It doesn’t look good if you drop a class, particularly a difficult class such as an ap, when you already submitted your course selection sheet. Since this situation doesn’t apply to you (as far as I know) do whatever you want, as long as you’re happy about it.

Yeah, our schedules aren’t set in stone until after the add/drop period this fall. Right now, we’re merely planning it out. I have to sign a contract in June ensuring I won’t drop any AP courses come Senior year, but as of right now, I can make any changes as I want and it wont be evident in any documents.

NOTE:
I dropped AP Psychology today and took Studio Art III Honors because 1) I really like art, its super relaxing 2) the teacher is wicked nice and the class is chill.

If you’re still interested, you can self-study for ap psychology (that’s what I’m planning to do). There would be less of a workload compared to if you learned the course in an actual “brick-and-mortar” classroom.

@Maruchan85 - Actually, I was just thinking that. I might do that second semester and take the exam in May along with my other APs.

^I agree. Also, you could move the AP US Government to something easier like AP Environmental Science or AP Human Geography, if possible.
