SHOULD i drop the class or try to get a C

hey guys, i 'm a student at boston college, and i'm doing excellent in all my classes(A- and up) except cheemistry, which I have a F right now, my average is like a 30, with the class average being a 65. I am really considering dropping the class(withdrawal), because it will seriously bring my gpa down significantly. My question is should i Drop it, and most importantly, is dropping a class 1st semester of class of freshman year a big deal? because i heard it is not at all, and as long as i never do it again. I do not want to keep this class and have a 3.0 instead of a 3.8 because of how bad i am doing it.

Please answer my questions and thankss!!!

Will you go below full time status if you drop? Is it required for your major? Will you need to take it over? Will you receive a WF(withdrawn failing)? If you repeat, will it cover your prior grade?

Lots of variable to consider. Talk to your advior. Good luck!

If you can get a w as opposed to getting a wf, I think by all means you should drop the class because a "F" never leaves your transcript. Hold on to you notes if you need the course, take it over again.
