I was choosing between microbiology and neuroscience last spring. I chose neuroscience. I decided neuroscience wasn't what I thought it was and I ended up switching to microbiology just a few days ago. This means the classes I'm taking now are useless for my new major.

But here's the problem. I'm taking two neuroscience classes this quarter. One of them is fine and somewhat interesting, not hard at all. The other though, is neuroanatomy. I'm doing fine in the course, but there is so much work for it and now I want to drop it; I really dread the class and it's not interesting at all. However, I will get a notation with the mark that I dropped it week 8 out of 10.

How does this impact my future admissions? My idea is that they won't care much as long as I continue to get good grades and research experience, etc. I'm planning for a PhD in microbiology. Thanks
