so today, I got my sat score back and it was heartbreaking. I’m planning to apply and my SAT score is a 1330. Should I even attempt to apply given my score is 110 points below the 25th percentile?
you should try. you never know your chances
Applications are reviewed holistically and the 25th percentile is the 25th percentile, a full quarter of the school is under that mark. You should definitely apply.
^that, but with the knowledge that the school is a reach. It sounds like you’re interested in and like Rice; IMO it’s worth applying, even if it’s just so you won’t be left wondering “what if” once April rolls around.

Is there anything else about you application that would make you stand out? GPA, course rigit, leadership, talent, back story? I would give it a go if your application would be strong in other areas.
Yes. Rice rejects people with perfect SAT/ACT every year and accepts people below their median range ever year as well. All depends on what they’re looking for out of a student
