Should I even bother applying to Yale??

I'm absolutely in love with Yale, but my parents and friends think my chances are less than zero. My counselor simply said "It's a crapshoot for everyone." So, what do you think? Do I have a shot, or would this be the biggest waste of an application fee?

So whaddya think? Everyone says my ECs coupled with the fact that I took regular Physics and Chemistry, not honors, means I have no shot....but I love Yale so much. Please tell me if I have a chance.
Thanks!!

If you love Yale so much, just shoot out an application and express your interest in the essays. That way, you won’t regret never applying; there’s nothing to lose. If you get rejected, all you lost was $75, and you’ll just be like 92% of all the applicants.

It’s probably too late to change this, but your GPA will be the biggest liability to your application.

If you “love Yale so much” you will probably never forgive yourself for not applying. But if you compare yourself to the posts from the Yale EA thread, you will see that there are a lot of deferred candidates that look a lot like you. That just means you need to be realistic.

You might not get in, but really what the heck, go for it.
