I'm currently a freshman at SUNY Binghamton. I got into NYU when I applied, but I didn't go because the cost of room and board would kill me, and I didn't want to commute. I got a lot of FA compared to what most people get from NYU (I only had to pay $6,000 for tuition, but I really did NOT want a 2 hour commute). Now I completely regret going to Binghamton. I'm planning on transferring for Fall 2011, and I was thinking of applying to NYU, but I heard that transfers get nearly no FA, and if I don't get enough money, I'm not going. Should I apply, or will it be a waste of time?

I mean if you want to go there then yes, apply. It’s never a waste of time to apply, and who knows maybe you hit the financial aid jackpot.
