Because I didn't really give a **** about school my 9th grade GPA was horrible like around the low 2.0's but then ( its a longgg story but something happened to change the way I think to make school my top priority) So I managed to bring it up to 3.0's in the sopho year....and at junior year I brought it up to 4.4 which is highest a student can get in my school unweighted..... My school offers only 1 AP for juniors and I didn't take it .... But I took 2 honors during junior year Eng/Math... I will be taking 5 APs next year....

So...considering that my SAT scores are 2100+ and SAT II are 700 + .. good essay.. etc.. should I try applying? I mean I seriously ****ed up 9th grade and I don't really think 2.0's are really IVY-LEAGUE type of GPAs..

As a tiny bump and an opinion, I will say yes, you should apply. Some schools, even IVY LEAGUES! look at kids who picked themselves up, etc, and came out with a pretty decent high school record. That is to say, you must have a good reason for applying to Cornell (pacified yall for PCness). if you do, the "highest a student can get" GPA would probably be good. Maybe write an essay that incorporates this idea that you had a relevation or revelation? Good luck

Go for it! What do you have to lose?

the "revelation" is VERY odd -_- I don't think Cornell would find it very academic.... its kind of funny in a way :)

apply...college admissions is a crapshoot anyway

hm... what can I do to improve my chance?

display focus and direction in some of your activities. dont have 4000 halfass hobbies, have 2 or 3 that are passions. and get a rec from a teacher who can attest to your development/maturity change.

Some schools, like Stanford, don't even look at freshman grades. You should try applying to one of those...
