I applied to Penn State, and my application log was recently changed to the message, “Sorry, we are unable to retrieve your application details. Logout and try again in a few minutes. We are working to resolve the issue.” Does this mean they’re updating my application details and that I’ll get my decision soon?
No, that is not what that means. Penn State updates their system once a day, usually overnight. But the majority of decisions will not come out until December and January. You may be one of the luckier ones that hear in in November, but the vast majority (I forget what an admissions rep told me last year…something like 90%) of the decisions are released after the priority deadline of November 30. And of that percentage, the majority of THOSE decisions will come out in January.
@STEMinist16 - can I ask: did your application log status ever show a “coming days” message? Or did it go straight from “Your application is currently under review” to “Accepted”? Looking through previous years it seemed like a coming days status meant you’d get your result in 1-3 days but perhaps they aren’t using that method this year…
@zipbags Thanks! I applied for a Biochemistry. I had a 4.0 unweighted GPA, 2000 SAT, and 34 ACT. I also had leadership positions in a couple of clubs, did volunteer work, etc.
@FloridaBound16 Thank you! And I never saw a “coming days” notice, unless it was there between the error notice and the acceptance and I never noticed the change.
@jlhpsu Thanks, and I’ll be sure to post my stats soon.
