Should I focus on the SAT or ACT?

I took the SAT back in January and got 1220 (600 Reading & Writing, 620 Math). I haven’t officially taken the ACT, but I took a practice test and my overall score ended up being a 25 (Scale scores - 26 English, 32 Math, 20 Reading, 24 Science)

Both of those scores align exactly when I converted the scores. However, I feel like it’ll be easier for me to raise my SAT, since I did much better on the English section of the SAT, as I had trouble with the fast paced timing on the ACT. Although I did much better on the ACT math, I feel like it’ll be easier for me to raise. I got a 1330 on the PSAT (620 Reading & Writing, 710 Math) so I thought my SAT would’ve been much higher, especially the math section, but I guess it was just much harder.

Which one is easier to raise? My goal is to get 1450-1500 on the SAT or 31-32 on the ACT.

Thank you!

The only way to know which test you should take is to take multiple practice tests of each. You need to see which test you are performing better on consistently. I took the SAT back in November and got a 1500. Then i studied for the ACT and took it in February and got a 34. (A 34 equates to a 1540 SAT). I naturally am better at the ACT. You need to find out which test you are better at and focus all your energy onto that test. good luck!!!

The ACT science and reading sections are really hard to get good at and you did not do very well in them. I would suggest the SAT given that because it is easy to teach the English and Math on the ACT, but the science and reading are kind of innate skills. I would recommend SAT.

Take a practice test of each one more time. The first practice is for getting familiar with the format and timing. The reading section of the ACT is MUCH easier than the SAT because there is no analysis necessary. All the answers are directly in the text. Did you just run out of time?

@Hamlon Yes I ran out of time toward the end. I think the SAT reading section was easier for me just because I had more time to complete it.
