So I have been debating for a couple months if I should go test-optional this year for my USC application. My stats are lower than their average but it has been my dream school since I started high school.
Intended Major: Business Administration
GPA: 3.62 uw. 4.17 W
Course rigor: I was in the most advanced math track at my school (I got one C in BC Calculus). English was the only subject that I didn’t take the most advanced classes. I took 10 AP classes overall.
SAT superscore: 1370 (730 math/ 640 English)
ACT composite: 30 (31 english, 32 math, 30 reading, 27 science)
I feel that my EC’s are fairly average and that they won’t hinder nor boost my application.
Many people have told me to send my scores as well as many other people telling me not to. According to USC common data set, I am around the 25th percentile for test scores. But, by looking at the math scores I am around the average for that section.
But since my GPA is low is it bad to send in another low statistic? Or will at least sending in a score help me a little bit since I am at least in the range(…ish).
Another hesitation that I have is that I hear people are applying to schools test-optional when they received very low test scores. Mine is not super low and I need anything to gain an advantage.
I am sorry that this post is all over the place. Any help is appreciated!!!
