I know UC Berkeley is considered one of the best schools in the country, but is it the right place for me? I am graduating from a very small high school that doesn't have many classes. As a result I don't have any experience with AP classes and similar things. Because of this, I think going to Berkeley might be difficult for me even though I'm a straight A student. UC Davis is also a great school and I like the environment. Regardless, it's also a very challenging school. Work wise, does Davis give lots of opportunities of being hired after graduation like Berkeley?
Taking all these factors into consideration, what would you advise me?

I was accepted into both colleges.

You would probably get more feedback if you posted in the main college admission section instead of the essay subsection. I don’t think the essay subsection gets as many views.

I have no personal experience with either school. But, since you were accepted to UC Berkeley, you are probably well prepared for classes there. Many students (at colleges across the nation) have not had the opportunity to take AP classes at their high schools. I expect colleges know this and offer a wide selection of starting classes to accommodate the incoming students.

I encourage you to consider several factors for the final decision. Yes, challenge yourself but also consider what each school offers for your particular major. Also, do you have a feel for your general fit for each school?

Best wishes whatever you decide.

ETA: You probably should post in College Search & Selection

Thank you so much!! I’m new on here, so I don’t really know where to post things. I’ll follow your advice just now. Thanks again!

If you were accepted, the admission officers think that you’ll do fine. Go to whichever one you want, you should do fine in both.
