Yeah, only reason why i used the term fob was b/c it's a large generalization, quick and to the point, people get what i'm saying, and yeah?

It's used pretty commonly at uci, including the asian community

Hell, i don't mind when people refer to me as a half-breed, for being half german-irish and half chinese. My Irish ancestors came over on a boat, and my chinese ancestors flew. a little backwords to the literal meaning.

I'm aware that the social scene at UCSD isn't nearly as active as other colleges (while comparing UC's), as say UCLA, but i'm not in college for the super party scene, i'm an engineering major, and well, that's what i'm in college for, to get a degree in just that. UCSD has a superior program, and i'm switching because of that.

Does it hurt that I'm not particualrly fond of the UCI scene? not at all. Change of scene can be good, and can be bad. it's a risk, but a risk i'm willing to take, due to the aformentioned attribute UCSD has over UCI.

Fob is definitely straight to the point, haha.

I highly respect your notions and decision. I think you deserve to move out because you show that you want a change, another new experience, and a great education in engineering. Education itself is already more satisfying than the social scene, right? ;]

Ethan:
Here's my view on it, how fun college is depends on how much you like the environment, mainly the people you'll be with. Many people go into UCI as their backup schools. Some of them end up falling in love with UCI and others hate Irvine more and more as each day goes by. I and a couple of my friends really don't "fit in" at Irvine. I visited UCSD five times this school year and loved it every time I was there. The people there are more chill and relaxed. My point is that while there are those who really like Irvine, there are also those who do not even after a year. Best of luck w/ your choice =)

I choose community college. I know for a fact that med doesnt frown upon community a degree is a degree it doesnt sasay " ucla grad but only
2 years there"

No, Med schools dont frown upon where you get your core classes done at, but I can guarantee you that you will struggle in a real Med school after only taking the basics at a JC. Sorry, just being realistic...
