Hi guys!! One thing you should know about me is that I LOVE science, so much that I'm taking every AP class known to man to leave me with only science once I go off to college. I'm ashamed to say that I've purposefully avoided taking AP Biology because I've read the class description of the classes that AP Bio will replace (assuming I get a good score) and I don't want to pass up the opportunity of taking those classes in college. I mean, I want to make my college experience fun.

I'm taking Human Anatomy and Physiology instead, and it is often said to be more rigorous than AP Bio at my school, so I can get my four years of science. But I can't help but feel that I'm making a dumb decision especially since I'm showing interest in Bacteriology/Microbiology...

Would colleges find my decision commendable (aiming to take all science to pursue my interests) or should I have just sucked it up and taken AP Bio?

Thank you to all who answer!!!

All that matters is that the GC says A&P is more rigorous than AP Bio on the Secondary School Report.

worry about now! instead of devoting all your time into making your college experience fun, try to take classes you like in high school too.

i think that if you are passionate about biology, you should take ap bio.

In many schools, you can talk the class even if you could have gotten AP credit for it. You could investigate if that’s an option. Also, AP Bio usually only replaces introductory/general biology classes in college. There are plenty of other more advanced biology classes that cover topics in general biology more in depth. Rather than skipping AP Bio to take intro bio classes in college, you could dive right into the more fun and interesting biology classes, or retake intro bio in college if you still really want to take it, despite having taken it in high school.

That having been said, don’t worry about it. Take whatever you want. It’ll be fine.
