Okay, so I was just sitting around, and suddenly I remembered that I took Honors Bio in 8th grade and it was at a 10th grade level. If I had good grades, should I include this along with a transcript of my grades?

Also, if my middle school gave away special awards to certain students that achieved a lot, should I include this in my application if I received four of them? Not a big section though..

Do you mean you took Honors Bio for a high school credit in middle school instead of high school? I’d include that if it’s not already on your transcript, because otherwise they might be wondering why you didn’t take biology.

Don’t put your middle school awards, though.

D’s high school includes all courses taken for HS credit regardless of when you took them. (It’s quite common for students to take Algebra I in 7th or 8th and Geometry in 8th in this district.)

You should check a copy of your transcript to see if any HS classes taken in middle school are noted anywhere. If not, ask your college advisor the best way to note it, they may do it for you.

Middle school awards are best left off, unless they are certain national awards. Who wants to be known for peaking in middle school?

If the course is on your hs transcript, that is fine to include it. Do not include awards before hs. In most applocation, you don’t even have the option to label anything before 9th grade. If that is something really outstanding and you have to mention it, put it in the additional information section.

For homeschoolers, providing as much support as possible for your academic strengths is important. If your transcript does not include the honors bio course, you should ask a teacher or counselor to note it in their recommendation and you should mention it (in one brief sentence) in the additional information section of your application.
