I got 1470 recently on the SAT. 770 math and 700 reading. Is it worth keeping or should I let College Board get rid of the score?
You can’t “get rid” of a score. You can however, retake the SAT, which you should. While a 1470 is really good, you’ll likely do better when you’re older (junior year) and it’ll look better to colleges since it’s more recent.
Yes, keep it - no reason not to. Excellent score.
(And for other posters, yes, the College Board will only retain scores before high school if requested by the student.)
Some colleges require a more recent score, one from junior or senior year. You may keep yours if you choose, but depending upon where you apply, you may have to take it again.
SAT scores taken by the those in 8th grade and younger are removed at the end of the academic year, unless the student sends a letter to CollegeBoard saying they want to keep the score.

OP, I would keep that score but do know that as stated in post #3 above, most colleges will want a more recent score when it comes time to applying.
If you got that good of a score in eighth grade with what I’m assuming was little to no prep, you’re probably going to be able to get a higher score without much effort later on, so I don’t see why you need to keep it, especially since some colleges do require more recent test scores. However, there’s really no harm in keeping it either, since that is an excellent score.
Thanks everyone!
