I scored above a 2150 with scores above 700 in each category on the SAT. I'm currently in 8th grade, so unless I take action, the scores will be deleted.

I know this score is awesome for my age, but should I preserve it? There's a high likelihood of scoring better when I'm older, but I'm still unsure.

For comparison, I got a 1900+ last year as a 7th grader.

So, um. Help? :3

Whats the harm in not saving it? If it doesn’t cost any money, I don’t see why not. A 2150 is a very respectable score; although I’m sure you’ll do a lot better when you take it in high school.

I wouldn’t bother keeping it. Considering you’re scoring that high as an 8th grader, by the time you are a junior and have completed all your main high school english and math classes you should be able to score 2300+ no problem. The only way you would ever get a score lower than you have is if you get really nervous or get sick or something out of the ordinary, but even then you can just cancel your score and take it again. Just continue reading and stuff and don’t worry about the SAT until at least 10th grade.

You should definitely keep it. You might do even better later, you might not. Some kids who test early for GT programs actually get lower scores when they retest as juniors and seniors. Might as well play it safe and keep an existing excellent score.

Definitely. I know this is a little off topic but what did you do to study?

I took a practice test a few months ago and the actual thing last year, but other than that, nada.

Thinking I will just let it go…

Keep it because it suggests that you are smart, and when you score higher later on, it’ll show that you didn’t have a gazillion of expensive test prep tutoring.
