I'm a rising junior currently who is looking at a lot of southern schools. At the top of my list are Bama, FSU, UGA, and USC. My whole entire family went to U of M so they aren't very helpful when it comes to finding out information on the schools I actually want to go to. I visited Louisiana twice and absolutely love it so I figured I would look into LSU. So basically I'm just looking for some
basic information on what LSU is like? Like reputation? Best programs? How it compares to other schools like Bama? Also I should include that I am interested in careers in the communications or maybe even media law field.

Good for you to be looking so early. It’s too bad your family suffers from what so many others do in remaining blindly loyal to their college. That said, you will find any of the colleges you listed good ones that your will like and will leave you with great memories. Since you are looking at southern schools, check out the Academic Common Market. It may allow you to go to an out-of-state school for in-state prices. LSU has a good reputation and programs. It compares favorably with other state colleges. LSU has a Entertainment and Media Law Society. Google it.
