I plan on going to George Mason University in the fall of 2013. I've been thinking a lot about possible majors! Which would be the better major for more opportunities: Finance or Economics? Does the school affect any job prospects? I'll probably end up getting my MBA after a few years of work experience after getting my bachelors. Any advice?

Anyone have any advice?

Most undergrad finance students end up doing corporate finance.
I’m not sure about economics, but I think they work for investment/ government more.
You have to contact your school, look for job placement rate, starting salary and so on.
If you have free time, who not do a dual degree in Finance+Economics?
Honestly, if you are not sure, check the stats for the two majors at your school
and compare them

The job prospects are pretty similar for the most part. Your career just depends on how you brand yourself.

Once you take finance and economics courses, major in which one you find easier and/or more interesting in order to excel.
