I am really interested in international studies. I have always loved learning about different cultures and languages, and I definitely want to study abroad one day. I am thinking about majoring in IS,but I am afraid that if I major in IS, I won't be able to find a job afterwards. I was thinking about combing IS with a major in Women and Gender Studies(IS program requires 3 years of foreign language-planning to learn Spanish). I would love to work with young girls and women and be involved in issues concerning domestic violence, women's rights, etc. Should I major in IS, or stick with Social Work and Spanish(intended major)? What can I do with an IS degree?

You can work at McDonald’s.

Seriously, if you major in a social science, you need to at least minor with math. The job market is currently saturated with all these international studies degrees, and the only thing that will set you apart from the crowed are your quantitative skills.

Ha ha, thanks. I decided against it, I’m going to major in Social Work and minor in Spanish(or maybe major in that as well). If I want to learn more about cultures I will just read a book. I don’t want to graduate with a “useless” degree.
