So I just finished up my last semester at community college and I have a gap year (didn’t apply this year) until I can apply to schools I want to get into. Up till now I’ve been an English major who wants to transfer to one of UCLA’s un-impacted English majors out of self-fulfillment. I personally don’t have an interest in English career-wise so I’m considering taking CS+math courses as a minor/backup.
My GPA is a 3.5 and I know that taking the math courses will drop my gpa considerably. Would it be better to not take math classes to keep my gpa in a good spot? Or would admissions not care about the CS/math classes since they aren’t prerequisites? I still can take some easy inrto classes to raise my gpa also. For math/CS I’m not picky on the school. Please give me your opinion.
