Should I or should I not get an iphone?

Hi, I know that Verizon and Sprint are the two best carriers in the campus and that AT&T service is poor.... but I am just in love with the new iphone 3G S right now and I really can't find one like that in Verizon or Sprint. Also, I heard from some people that AT&T is still "survivable". I really can't make up my mind so I need your help! Should I or should I not get an iphone?

If you can give me info about iphone's web browsing connection qualities on the campus, it will be greatly appreciated as well.

Help! haha

btw, I am pretty sure that I will be living in the south campus.

Verizon has a 3G phone made by Samsung called Omni. I have it-you might check it out.

I had AT&T throughout college and it was fine, including having an iPhone since last year. I promise you can make do with any carrier on campus.

That being said, won’t you be able to get an iPhone through other carriers by the end of the year? Might be worth it just to wait for a Verizon one.

AT&T reception is fine on campus, the only place I don’t get exceptional service is deep inside tech or in the basement of Norris, where I don’t think anyone really does.

This is referring to the 3G network, which is what you use to web browse. Also - the iPhone uses WiFi so even in the event that reception is bad in your dorm, you can still use it to access the internet/email.

when i went to visit NU, my family and i didn’t get service in most of the buildings we visited (we have AT&T), but maybe we were just unlucky

so all in all, AT&T works fine on campus? iphone is ok to get?

i have an iphone; reception is fine everywhere on campus except for (in order of suckiness): tech, norris basement, any other building’s basement.

but all of these places have wireless so it’s not entirely hopeless

AT&T doesn’t work in some north campus dorms though, so that was painful for me until I finally switched to Verizon. It’s perfectly fine outside though.

Different phones with the same carrier work differently also. So an iPhone might work fine with AT&T while a less expensive or older phone will not.
